ECM: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server is the cornerstone of e5 Workflow. The rich Document Management and Search functionality of MOSS is complimented by the highly functional e5 Workflow modules incorporating: e5 Image Management for
high volume, remote capture and outsourced capture of paper; e5 Fax Management for both inbound and outbound fax, SMS and MMS via Exchange; the tight integration to Microsoft Exchange Server for e5 Email Management & Archiving ensuring all relevant inbound
and outbound emails are automatically captured and stored; and the e5 Microsoft Office Document Generation module which automates the generation of outbound correspondence of any nature.
Workflow: The tight integration of e5 Workflow to Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation provides a highly functional, yet easy to administer, workflow engine. The graphical process mapping allows all e5 Workflow functionality to be leveraged
as part of straight through processing or through human interactions.
Portals: Each group of process participants require their own style and layout best suited to the way they work. These may be back-office processing staff, call centers, customer portals or mobile workers. e5 Workflow leverages the portal
structures of MOSS to provide a highly flexible and rich interface for each of the user communities ensuring the optimum user experience.
Business Intelligence: The combination of e5 Workflow process auditing and the extensive Microsoft BI offering provide a rich interface for various levels of the organization. The combination of the e5 Workflow use of SQL Server Reporting
Services, Report Builder, Analysis Server and Excel Server provides traffic light reporting on the graphical dashboard through to complex drill through processing performance and process activity costing reports.
Search: Extensive use of the Business Data Catalogue and Search ensures that any information relating to a transaction can be easily found. The combination of searching the workflow metrics, the contents of transaction related documents
and the line of business transaction system is particularly compelling for call centre operations. The Microsoft Search capability can be used to drive complex workflow logic by assisting, for instance, in detecting fraudulent claims.
Forms: The comprehensive forms capabilities of Forms Server and InfoPath add a rich user experience to the e5 Workflow interface.
The business case for using the combination of the e5 Workflow capabilities, Microsoft’s extensive development of this Office platform and a worldwide community that constantly provides new integration functions is compelling.
