The FFA wanted a community to be built around Football that would enable stake-holders to connect, communicate and collaborate around football in Australia.
The Ensyst solution was a series of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007-based portals that had the potential to became an official social network for Australian football.
The sites incorporated leading edge technologies such as XML, XSLT, RSS, AJAX , as well as custom .NET web parts that allowed users at various levels to add, share and comment on pictures, videos and other user-generated content to increase the stickiness
of the portals.
In addition, custom workflows were built to allow rapid deployment of local portals with full content management permissions leading all the way back to sport-wide announcements which could come from a single FFA official entry with almost instantaneous propagation
across the whole portal network.
The end result was an easily deployable, rapidly scalable, custom social network that provided FFA stake-holders with a familiar and intuitive front-end while simultaneously providing the full power of Microsoft's solutions on the back end.
