Description
Lihir Gold is one of the World’s leading Gold Miners with operations in some of the most inhospitable locations on the planet; An inactive volcanic crater off the coast of Papua New Guinea, the remote Australian Outback and the jungles of sub-Saharan Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) in Western Africa.
Lihir was interested in exploring modern unified communications tools.
Ensyst was engaged to provide an Microsoft option.
The old environment consisted of fixed line voice communications with disparate information systems and infrastructure.
The new system was a fully integrated UC&C solution built on leading edge Microsoft infrastructure solutions including Server 2008, OCS 2007 R2 (and later Lync 2010), Exchange 2010 and a range of management tools such as SCCM and SCOM.
