CanWest Global Communications Corp. (CanWest) is Canada's largest media company with 30 Microsoft Exchange 5.5. servers deployed across 26 sites. CanWest has identified a need to design and implement a new highly available Microsoft Exchange 2003 infrastructure and migrate their over 10,000 mailboxes. CanWest engaged Dell to leverage "best practices" in providing a complete solution for this migration. As a media company, CanWest has been clear that messaging is a mission critical application and that the solution needs to be highly available, reliable as the primary communication tool, and scaleable for anticipated future growth.
Dell provided consulting services to assess, design, validate and implement a best-practices enterprise messaging architecture to meet the reliability, performance and scalability requirements laid out by CanWest. Dell designed and implemented the process to migrate over 10,000 user mailboxes and user workstations to the new Exchange 2003 infrastructure.
