The Dell Skills Readiness Assessment Process creates prescriptive learning plans for groups and individuals. Groups can range in size from a handful of IT professionals to thousands of end-users. These learning plans identify suitable training (classroom training, self-paced eLearning, one-on-one coaching) to bring software and application skills up to recommended proficiency levels. Software skills can range from high-end IT skills (Windows Server administration, Exchange Server, SQL Server, SharePoint, and other server and developer skills) to more common end-user skills within Office 2007. Learning plans roll-up, to show group trends and requirements, and present the gathered data in such a way as to plan for training (whether via public training, customized group training, or online, self-paced learning) and further development. The assessment process uses self-evaluation to gather data (online, via a website) and individuals typically complete their assessments in about 15 minutes for end-users and 30 minutes for IT professionals (amount of time will vary by the number of technologies and skills included). Assessments are fully customizable, to fit customer requirements on technologies, skills and staff. Learning plans map (at a topic level) to specific modules within Microsoft Official Learning Products (from Microsoft Official Curriculum Manuals to Microsoft eLearning). Learning plans can also map directly to the module level of Microsoft Software Assurance eLearning, for those customers able to leverage this resource. Assessments are customizable, and can be mapped to other learning solutions (other eLearning libraries, or courseware manuals, for example). Dell manages the entire Assessment Process as a project, with an experienced Training Consultant to ensure success.
