Infront Consulting Group are experts in the authoring of Management Packs for System Center Operations Manager. Through paid consulting engagements, Infront Consulting Group works with customers that have invested in the creation of Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 (MOM 2005) Management Packs to convert or recreate these Management Packs (MPs) for System Center 2012 Operations Manager.

With System Center 2012 Operations Manager, the whole architecture of the Operations Manager product changed preventing an in-place upgrade from MOM 2005 to SCOM 2012. Any customer investments in MOM 2005 Management Packs will require at a minimum, a conversion to SCOM 2012 and worst case a complete re-write to function in SCOM 2012.

Infront Consulting Group are experts in the authoring of Management Packs for System Center Operations Manager having written and developed MPs for Microsoft and as an ISV for third party applications such as Avamar, RightFax and TrendMicro.

The conversion process typically starts with an assessment of your current MOM 2005 MPs. Infront has developed an application that is able to parse through your MOM 2005 MPs and determine the types of rules included in the MPs. We use this tool to determine the approximate level of effort that would be involved in the migration.
