Organizations adopting Microsoft SharePoint for internal content management and collaboration purposes are now seeing the need to extend the reach of their existing Microsoft SharePoint farm to the outside world. Microsoft’s Secure SharePoint Platform delivers the necessary pieces to enable a secure extranet and collaboration access for remote employees, partners, vendors and customers.

The Secure SharePoint solution assists in defining and deploying these external access strategies specifically targeting the unique requirements and capabilities of SharePoint.

Every Secure SharePoint deployment is based on Microsoft Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010 (UAG). UAG is the single point of entry for all external access to SharePoint from all users and devices. Following the base implementation of UAG, solution components are then tailored to support specific business requirements for access control, information protection, and identity management.

The Infusion end-to-end process for solution design and deployment is a classic approach that puts the customer and users first and foremost throughout. Therefore, it starts with an envisioning phase, which commences with a discovery process to understand the environment and business drivers that the Secure SharePoint solution will fulfill.
