Description

This course is a mix of instructor led training and hands-on labs, delivered in a workshop format to demonstrate how to work within the Operations Console. During this one-day class, students will learn how to leverage the System Center Operations Manager Operations Console to find the information that is important to them and assist them in troubleshooting and resolving issues within their environment.

This class does not focus on the installation or configuration of Operations Manager or the development of management packs. This class is solely focused on the use of the Operations Console from the perspective of the Operator or Advanced Operator role in Operations Manager 2007, 2007 R2 or 2012.

This class is consists of the following sessions:
Session 1: Overview of Operation Manager
Session 2: High Level view of the Operations Manager R2 Architecture
Session 3: Navigating the Console
Session 4: Operator Tasks

Session 1: Overview of Operations Manager
At the end of this session, you will:
- Understand how Operations Manager works from an upper level perspective
- Understand the different types of monitoring available in Operations Manager
- Learn about the console differences
- Understand Management Packs and Monitoring Logic

Session 2: Operations Manager Architecture
At the end of this session, you will:
- Understand the Operations Manager Architecture
- Learn about the different Operations Manager components

Session 3: Navigating the Consoles
At the end of this session, you will:
- Understand the intricacies of the consoles
- Understand and know how to scope and personalize views and roles

Session 4: Operator Tasks
At the end of this session, you will:
- Understand how to use the console in your daily operations
- Work with alerts, tasks and overrides
