It is a legal requirement for an employer to check that a prospective worker (paid or unpaid) has the Right to Work in the UK. You must establish their right to work before their employment starts. For some workers you must repeat the check every 12 months. To prevent cases of discrimination you must check every prospective worker.
Photocopying passports / visa's / documents IS NOT enough. In order to provide statutory excuse against liability employers must verify document authenticity, this can be established easily with our passport scanner.
With fines from the UK borders agency starting at £10,000 per illegal employee and the huge damage from negative publicity it is critical that you protect yourself and demonstrate to the UKBA that you are taking the issue of 'right to work' in the UK very seriously.
Developed in conjunction with UK borders agency, ISS Facility Management (4th largest private employer in the World) and 3M, we have taken the technology used to verify documents & passports at airports and borders throughout the world and have developed a solution for employers to validate the identity and therefore the right to work of potential employees globally, simply by scanning the relevant passport or identity document.
The Intelligent Document Checker & Passport Scanner scans the document and carries out checks on the UV images, infra-red, photos, MRZ (machine readable zones), paper type, ink used, font used and many other checks to then compare this against a library of thousands of documents to identify and validate its authenticity.
The user is taken through a menu of instructions to capture additional information which prevents valid passports or documents being provided by a different person and prevents fraudulent use of the solution by supervisors / recruiters who may be involved in the of hiring illegal labour.
The data is then uploaded to a hosted database which can be linked to any HR, ERP or payroll system and the results of the checks shown online. Intelligent Document Checker can also be integrated with Intelligent Screening as part of the process of screening potential applicants.
