In 2007 this was made possible reducing the normal costs dramatically and making it affordable for small schools with IT suites to gain the advantages of the businesses around them.
What does Small Business Server do that the full blown Windows Server can't?
Small Business Server 2003 R2 is a suite of products limited only by the size of your network, currently 75 PCs which makes it ideal in some Primary schools.
Incorporated within Small Business Server is:
- Server 2003
- Exchange 2003
- Windows Sharepoint Services
- Office Outlook 2003
- Windows Update Services
- Desktop Faxing
and in addition the Premium version also includes:
- SQL Server workgroup edition 2005
- Internet and Security Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004
- Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003
Ths means that not only do you get the facilities of shared file storage and user accounts but you have your own email facilities with calendars shared within the school. Access to your work from home including emails. The facilities to teach your children to write their own web sites. PC's automatically updated with the latest patches authorised by you.
NCI Technologies have experience in locking down your network enabling you to teach without the worry of the children clicking the wrong button and changing settings. We can also design and build your IT Suite from scratch including benching and wiring so if you run a Primary school and are looking for a solution to change the way you work for the better call or email NCI Technologies, we are here to help.
