Pros
ExactTarget’s seamless integration with Microsoft Dyanamics CRM offers benefits for both the sales and marketing teams. As a marketer, I can quickly send a well-designed and personalized ExactTarget email to a Marketing List created in Microsoft CRM. Through the integration, all of the tracking data is stored in ExactTarget, which allows marketing to create targeted follow-up emails based on click activity and open rates. From the sales perspective, all marketing communications are being tracked on a contact level through in Microsoft CRM. The sales team is no longer wonder, “What is marketing saying to my prospects / clients?” Ultimately, using the integration plays a large role in bridging the communication gap between sales and marketing.

Robust Capabilities

Pros
The integration between Dynamics and ExactTarget is rather intense when it comes to capabilities and the myriad of opportunities it presents for marketers when it comes to activating CRM data. To say that the possibilities are endless is an understatement. Having a fully defined vision for requirements and potential activation strategies are key. This critical first step is HIGHLY advised or you simply won't be able to take full advantage of what makes both of these platforms best-in-class solutions.
Cons
Nothing worth anything is easy, so don't expect this sort of integration to be a cake walk. Beyond picking a platform, finding the right integration/configuration partner(s) for your needs will be important. Be sure to find partners that have proven, demonstrable experience working with both platforms.

ExactTarget and MSCRM

Pros
Integration is always key for a firm as small as ours. I like that I could log into MSDCRM and not have to leave to utilize the features of ExactTarget
Cons
I wish the integration went further than the iFrame plug-in.

Exact Target - Smooth Operator

Pros
Using Exact Target as our email Marketing tool for our CRM contacts has gone very smooth. We simply build our emails in Exact Target's Web interface and then they show up in CRM ready to send. Sends process quickly and stats are available right there in CRM. A reliable solution and a great way to take advantage of MS Dynamics CRM's robust contact management.
Cons
The main item we are missing right now is reply management in CRM where replies can be directed to an individual CRM user easily. Right now they all have to go to one email and manually forwarded from there.

MS CRM + ExactTarget

Pros
We create all of our marketing lists in MS CRM and keep an active history of what information we send to our clients worldwide. Being able to send our email campaigns to our clients directly within MS CRM is easy, efficient, and allows us to monitor our lists and campaign responses within the environment we use most. The ET + CRM integration is easy to use and allows for local editors around the world to collaborate on client lists and email marketing campaigns.
Cons
There isn's much to dislike about the integration aside that not enough Microsoft Partners have a suffient knowledge base on the integration.

Great add-on for email marketing and automated transactional emails

Pros
Allows us to manage our data in CRM, send out through Exact Target and then capture/track metrics at both a campaign and individual record level in CRM. Also, using Exact Target's email automation feature we are able to send Exact Target email from CRM workflow rules thus automating a lot of drip campaigns and transactional email efforts. Exact Target is great replacement for CRM's built in email editor/sending/tracking capabilities which are limited.
Cons
Has a bit of learning curve due to the many capabilities, but all in all its excellent as the integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM is very deep.

Pros
ExactTarget, integrated with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, provides us with a very robust marketing platform. We were already using ExactTarget prior to the announcement several years ago that they were integrating with CRM. Prior to integration we were unable to get visibility from CRM into the performanc of our email marketing campaigns with our contacts, both existing customers and prospects. We were stuck with multiple data silos, something no one wants in this day and age of technology. With the integrated product, I never have to leave CRM in order to plan, develop, execute, track, and analyze our email marketing campaigns. In addition, I can have CRM Workflow trigger ExactTarget emails from CRM. I think it's important to also understand that email deliverablity is very important to the success of an email marketing campaign. This can be overlooked during evaluations. ExactTarget has shown the market that they continue to invest in being the leader in deliverability metrics.
Cons
I look forward to seeing the product roadmap from ExactTarget in 2011. I look forward to seeing them integrate their platfrom with CRM 2011 and providing us with additional integration scenarios to meet our advanced marketing needs.
