Maintenance of categories in the EPM solution can, for medium to large implementations, be a time-consuming process. The ability for users to view projects is controlled by the category permission in the EPM solution. Therefore, often projects need to be added to one or more categories to ensure users are able to see this project in the Project Center. This utility uses a custom field that allows project managers to select a value appropriate to the categories of that project. These projects would need to be allocated only to the category appropriate to that department. This utility automates the process and, therefore, saves the administrator a great deal of time.
