The Endicia Label Server API allows partners to embed USPS postage labels into their applications and websites, so that their customers can print US Postal Service shipping labels right from their application without installing any additional software. These labels are independent of the customer’s desktop operating system, and they are complete with postage and tracking for domestic, APO/FPO and international mail. Electronic Custom forms are also included!
This fully scalable Label Server uses state of the art XML Web Services, so that our partners can support USPS shipping, eliminating the need for their end users to install new software or change their workflow. The system produces an integrated label image in a variety of formats, complete with (stealth) postage, delivery/return addresses, and Delivery Confirmation or Express Mail barcodes.
The basic concept around the Label Server is to provide corporations, application providers, developers and integrators with the ability to print US Postal Service pre-paid shipping labels with postage and tracking. Technically speaking, the interface is a set of Web Services that are designed to be integrated into other applications or web sites. Basically, they are shipping API’s that allow applications to use the US Postal Service in a similar manner that they may use other existing carrier’s shipping APIs.
