GP Migration and Upgrade
- 5.0
Reviewed by:HillT Reviewed on:3/7/2013
- Pros
- IBIS continues to impress me year after year. The customer support is amazing. When I have a problem, I get fast answers from experts who are willing to listen and delve into issues without hesitation. When I have projects, I get scalable solutions- right sized to current needs but that will grow with me. IBIS has built such a wonderful relationship with my company, I think of them as an extension of my company. We have shared many successes, and I am confident any project or problem I face in the future will have the same result.
- Cons
- They are already at the top of the game, there is not anything they need to improve upon. They only thing they would ever need to keep in mind is how to maintain their current level of service as they grow. So far, they have done just that. They are the benchmark other companies should aspire to.

With respect the 3rd party knowledge, I'll call you to discuss and see what I can do to improve.

That's a very fair comment. Our GP staff was very CPA and accounting heavy in the earlier days and has become more technical over time. Mark Polino actually wrote a blog entry about this, showing it as an industry trend. Part of that is a reflection of the massively low unemployment rate amongst accountants and part of that is hiring bias on our side.
With that said, we are consciously trying to hire ex-controllers and CPA's onto staff for both GP and AX.
Thanks for the feedback - we'll talk soon if I don't see you at Convergence.

Thanks for the comments. I wish we could lower our hourly rates to our clients in some way. We recently announced a 2% rate increase to factor in over the next year, the first increase since 2008. We are aggressive about keeping OPEX down, about creative hiring and about getting (and keeping) the highest quality people we can. As a result, our personnel costs are the single highest cost we carry (don't even get me started on health insurance increases).
I don't expect sympathy on this since I know you face the same challenge. We are constantly working on better, faster and more productive ways to do what we do, packaging more software and services into fixed fee, purpose built offerings (like our SharePoint Customer Portal, Entry Level BI deployment, Capital Cost Tracking Project, etc).
We'll keep trying. Thanks for being a valued client.
