Great Tool for Office 365 Migrations

  • 4.5
  • Overall Rating 4.5 stars

Reviewed by:GTreanor Reviewed on:1/7/2014

Pros
Over the last four years we've used several migration tools, including those from Microsoft. SkyKick is the most comprehensive and complete tool we've used to manage our customer migrations. That is the key, too. Some tools just move mailbox items. SkyKick truly enables us to manage the migration easily. We look like real pros when we can accurately set our customer's expectations for the migration. SkyKick allows us to do just that. In addition, this tool allows us to make quick work of the migration so that we can focus with the customer on making better use of the Office 365 platform.
Cons
Nothing.
Additional Comments
Not only is the tool terrific, but the people behind it are great, too. Their support team has been available any time we've had a question, request, or suggestion. We've even included them in conversations with customers that had a question or issue during the migration. SkyKick is a very hands on partner in this migration process and that is good to know. My staff does not have to become a SkyKick expert. We can rely on SkyKick for help when needed and they have always been more than willing to do so. Other tools or companies in this niche have not been as accommodating or as responsive. This is critical to a successful migration, to know that you have a worthy and dedicated partner willing to work hard to ensure my customer has a good experience. In the end, that reflects positively on my company.

Why Skykick Is The Best Choice

  • 4.0
  • Overall Rating 4 stars

Reviewed by:GBaroan Reviewed on:7/28/2013

Pros
The best thing about SkyKick is that they take into account the users desktops. Many of the other products out there only focus on the back end migration piece. SkyKick has a utility and method to bring over the desktop information and reconfigure the profiles if necessary for the new Office365 setup when the migration is completed.
Cons
There are two items that would be helpful if they were taken care of. One is that if the client has PST files that can be identified, it would be great to bring these up as well during the initial migration. This is a nice to have. Additionally, if there was a way for their tool to also update the PCs with updates other than just Outlook, that would be helpful as well. That being said, if the PCs were patched as they should be, then there would not need to have this in place. That is the only downside, but the service is still better than anything else I have seen out there. So it is not really a bad thing. More of a wish.
Additional Comments
We have been able to ramp up the number of migrations we can do at one time since finding out and using the SkyKick tool. I would recommend them to anyone looking to increase their Office 365 business. The people at SkyKick have been very helpful with any questions. We are very happy with the results. Will continue to use the service.

Pros
We worked with SkyKick to migrate our customer to Office 365 from a competitive hosting company. SkyKick simplified and sped up the migration process with very few issues. The end result was a very satisfied customer and additional business for our firm.

Flat out excellent solution

Pros
We started with SkyKick just a short time ago, and have utilized the solution for every Office 365 migration we have done since. We will exceed 200 mailboxes in just a few short weeks, and hope to double or triple that within a month or two. The value is incredible.
Cons
There was nothing I don't like. It is hard to convince me anyone gets a perfect score on anything, so I will describe why I didn't quite give it on every category here. On price, you do need to make sure the solution is really saving your staff time in each specific scenario. $2500 for 50 users is a great value, IF the tool is compatible with the need. We have clients with Mac and that is the only compatibility issue I would like to see addressed. Finally, on needs met, always room for some improvement somewhere, but I would have to dig to find it with SkyKick.
Additional Comments
Keep innovating, what you've done is impressive. Excited to see what you do next.

Over a dozen successful migrations through our SkyKick partnership

  • 5.0
  • Overall Rating 5 stars

Reviewed by:ThomasAllen Reviewed on:4/22/2013

Pros
We partnered with SkyKick in hopes of scaling our Office 365 practice at a faster pace, worked out better than we hoped. SkyKick has allowed us to simplify our migration model to the extent that we are completing around twice as many migrations per month with the same staff base. All with less risk of error, similar margins, and less cost to the customer. It has been a win/win relationship.
Cons
No complaints at this time.

SkyKick Improves Migration Time

  • 4.5
  • Overall Rating 4.5 stars

Reviewed by:JMolony Reviewed on:4/12/2013

Pros
The SkyKick application suite reduced the email migration time for 365 users to a fraction of the time a manual migration requires. Our company e-vos has been migrating clients now for nineteen months and what used to take hours upon hours of work was nearly automated. A migration can now be managed by one person rather than being actively worked by a team.
Cons
I did not like the fact I had to set a migration date prior to setting up users and licenses in a new order. For a total migration we may spend weeks performing infrastructure work on the location before ever migrating the email. The SkyKick application can be a great tool in the sales process for a partner, but the timeline is often difficult to project and pinpointing a migration date that early can be even more difficult.
Additional Comments
The SkyKick application is a must have for any migration specialist
