Konica Minolta South Africa’s Professional Services division has upped the ante within the document management field, successfully integrating its bizhub multifunctional devices (MFDs) with Microsoft’s SharePoint business collaboration platform.

The Konica Minolta’s SharePoint connector provides a direct link between its bizhub systems and the SharePoint application. Based on the company’s bEST (bizhub Extended Solution Technology) OpenAPI technology, this versatile and easy-to-use software module streamlines the work with SharePoint, allowing users to send scanned documents directly to the application without a detour via e-mail. At the same time, the module enables direct pulling and printing of documents from SharePoint libraries.

bEST (bizhub Extended Solution Technology) is an open interface technology incorporated into Konica Minolta devices to serve as a shared platform for enhancing the work environment by providing the office MFP and printer connectivity required to meet customers' specific business demands.

bizhub OP (bizhub Open Platform) is a comprehensive suite of core technologies combined into an open platform that enables seamless integration of the entire range of existing Multi-functional printer (MFP) devices and facilitates easy adoption of new generation products.


The communication protocols are written with industry standard SOAP and XML, allowing alliance partners and system integrators to provide their customers with a customized solution in a timely manner.
