Visualize your data in REAL-TIME

As opposed to the old tabular or charting products , PIVOTit is a data visualization tool that provides a graphical view of data collections.

Based on Microsoft’s PivotViewer technology for Silverlight, thousands of items can be visualized simultaneously, showing both relations and patterns in the data. Each item of data is represented by an image in the viewer, along with attributes or metadata. These attributes or metadata are used to categorize. Items are then grouped into collections and the relationship between multiple collections can be viewed.

A faceted search already familiar to SharePoint users, enables quick filtering of relevant data. As the facets are modified the viewer animates the changes of search results in either a grid or a graph view. By leveraging Microsoft’s Deep Zoom technology, high-resolution images are presented for each item, This allows each image to be loaded, yet still maintaining a rich user experience. Even if a user zooms into the data, no additional loading of data is encurred. This loading-on-demand saves on bandwidth by only downloading the image that the user needs based on the search criteria that was selected.

PIVOTit enables real-time visualization of data, by dynamically creating collections of enterprise information.

As PIVOTit uses dynamic collections, the restriction of 5000 static items no longer applies. The amount of data that can be “PIVOTit” is unlimited and always shows up-to-date information. This gives enterprises with large amounts of data the advantage to sift through thousands of records in an instant, while still maintaining the user experience.

PIVOTit runs as a web application and each collection can be accessed via normal web protocols, giving enterprises the ability to load balance the application for high demand and availability. The customized viewer runs as a Silverlight application in the browser and can be accessed from anywhere, without having tech-support install the application. PIVOTit can also be embedded in sharepoint to ensure compliance with internet and intranet settings.
