Application Description
The SCOPIA Video Gateway for Microsoft Lync extends the reach of Lync providing connectivity and interoperability with standards-based video conferencing and telepresence systems.
The SCOPIA Video Gateway allows customers to realize the benefits of Lync in conjunction with their existing deployments of room-based video conferencing systems and new visual communication solutions such as telepresence and video on mobile devices. The SCOPIA Video Gateway is a result of RADVISION working with Microsoft to develop video conferencing solutions with Microsoft Lync.
SCOPIA Video Gateway for Microsoft Lync Highlights:
- Presence from Video Conferencing Systems: Any standards-based video conferencing system can be displayed in the Lync contact list and Lync users can view the status of those systems.
- Connectivity to Standards-based Systems: Lync users can conference with any video conferencing system extending the reach of Lync to the large installed base of video enabled conference rooms around the world.
- HD Audio and Video Transcoding: Audio and video between Lync and traditional video conferencing systems is transcoded, preserving the high definition (HD) experience between Lync and room-based video conferencing systems.
- Consistent Lync Experience: The Lync user experience is unaltered when standards-based systems are connected to a conference, preserving the familiar Lync user environment.
- Connectivity to Standards-based Video Infrastructure: Lync users also have the option to connect to any standards-based multi-party conferencing unit (MCU) such as the SCOPIA Elite MCU, leveraging additional video processing features provided by these systems.
