Infusion utilizes Microsoft Business Intelligence (SQL Server and SharePoint) to design and implement analytic and reporting applications based on sales and marketing data. The Infusion team leverages its deep knowledge in the Microsoft technology stack to build solutions that make the right data available to the right people at the right time, in the right format, through the right medium. Our solution equips end users with a flexible tool set that is easy to use, as well as provide up to date ad-hoc analytics.
A typical solution has two major components. The first component is the backend. This typically involves the building of a data warehouse in SQL Server that consolidates and standardizes all data from operational systems into one common location and format. Integration Services is used to extract, transform, and load the operational data into the warehouse. Then, Analysis Services is used to build OLAP cubes from the data warehouse. The warehouse and cubes serve as a backend. The second component is the front end or visualization layer. This is typically achieved through a SharePoint reporting portal. The portal is used to present reports (using Reporting Services), dashboards (using Performance Point), and collaboration to all end users.
The benefits of implementing this solution include report run times being decreased from minutes or hours to mere seconds, the removal of manual manipulation to generate reports, consistent data, synthesis of large data sets into meaningful views, and adhoc drilldown capabilities.
