SharePoint Composer

by ShareSquared, Inc.

Application Description

SharePoint Composer transforms a deeply technical exercise into a visual, intuitive experience and significantly eases the design and implementation of SharePoint 2010 Server Farms.

SharePoint Composer enables users to visually design and build a SharePoint 2010 or 2007 implementation, from a single server configuration to a multi-farm configuration.

With its intuitive, visual design canvas, SharePoint Composer empowers SharePoint Administrators to collaborate with Business Sponsors and Executives to visualize, plan, and design SharePoint 2010 Enterprise Portals down to the site level and then build them based on the visual blueprint or design.

Composer facilitates a conversation about how the resulting SharePoint portal will be structured and provides the ability to then build the design scenario automatically. Business Sponsors and Executives can test out the scenario in a real SharePoint environment to determine if the design meets requirements, make adjustments in the design canvas as necessary, and rebuild.

The result is a repeatable, SharePoint deployment that exactly reflects the blueprint created in the design canvas and adheres to SharePoint best practices, all without tedious manual configuration or the development of complex deployment scripts.

The product includes the following capabilities:
- Import existing SharePoint 2007 configuration, site hierarchy, security, services, etc.
- Identify and analyze issues with existing SharePoint 2007 deployments
- Build SharePoint 2010 or SharePoint 2007 Farms
- Convert SharePoint 2007 Farm configurations to SharePoint 2010
- Detect invalid configurations
- Identify where best practices are not being followed
- Build configurations targeted at different SharePoint Editions
