VisitorLink is an effective solution for automating guest receiving and tracking by leveraging Lync Enterprise. It fit our need to manage/track access and allow visitors to communicate with a distributed work force. VisitorLink is a powerful Lync-based platform architected to integrate with other systems, (e.g. access control, security systems) to address a wide range of applications. Great ROI compared to a dedicated receptionist… and more consistently available than a receptionist performing other tasks. Possibly more friendly than an overtasked receptionist.
Many visitors would ignore the VisitorLink panel, which is more of a matter of our formerlly staffed entry area and reception signage. The more technically astute visitors recognized and took advantigesof the time saving features. A next phase will include stronger user access enforcement through greater access control.
Additional Comments
Do not stop with the current solution scope. VisitorLink is an application that will accelerate user adoption of Lync Enterprise. If not a killer application, it a niche solution that can spark business transforming applications based intelligent and creative combinations of presence and collaboration tools.
