Pinpoint Leads to Global Exposure for New Zealand’s Theta Systems
“Pinpoint has been a fantastic addition to our business,” says Kevin Fong, sales manager at Theta Systems in Auckland, New Zealand.
Theta Systems delivers software solutions to its international customer base, offering an extensive range of Microsoft technologies, including SQL Server 2012, Microsoft .NET, Dynamics NAV, and BizTalk.
The company also provides IT consultancy and related services to some of New Zealand’s largest companies, in sectors such as telecommunications, energy, legal, IT, and primary industries. One of Theta Systems’ premier accounts is the government of Australia.
Easy Access to World Markets
Fong says that Pinpoint has provided Theta Systems access to markets around the world that it would not have typically sought out—opening the door to a multitude of potential new customers.
“Customers are coming to us, rather than us marketing to them,” Fong says. These customers hail from neighboring Australia and familiar United States markets, but also from nontraditional, off-the-beaten-path places like the Czech Republic, Denmark, Guatemala and Saudi Arabia.
“Getting ourselves onto Pinpoint was really easy,” says Fong. “The administration of it takes no time at all. It is no different really than maintaining ourselves on our own website. We align everything on our site with Pinpoint and use that as a mechanism to sell our services.”

Fong states that some customers have discovered Theta Systems by conducting a quick Internet search. “They typed in QlikView Connector NAV, and Pinpoint came up first,” Fong says. “One customer’s business need was to get better reporting, faster and quicker, out of its ERP system. QlikView Connector provides the ability to access that data in layman’s terms, which means that users can then create self-service reports.”
The QlikView interface is click-driven, visual, flexible and intuitive. Once the QlikView Connector for Dynamics NAV is in place, users can change and customize reporting to suit their own requirements, without IT support. Data is easier to visualize and analyze.
Ultimately, Fong says, customers gain the ability to get fast and efficient reporting but also drive the responsibility of reporting down to the end-user level.

Over the last six months, Fong reports, there have been more than 8,000 views on the Theta Systems Pinpoint profile. Site visitors include a range of diverse professionals, from end users looking for greater efficiencies in how they can use reporting, to other Microsoft partners that are interested in becoming resellers of Theta Systems products.
“We don’t need to advertise overseas, because Pinpoint does all of this work for us,” Fong says. “We’re going to carry on using Pinpoint to take our new products and services to market, for sure.”
